Can you please include hard to find topics like UDP/TCP popular ports. There was a time I was looking for tcp port used by HTTPS. I had to finally look it up on the web! (of course that option will not be available in the exam!)
Thanks
Sesano, you may use cheat sheet “common ports” from Jeremy Stretch: http://packetlife.net/cheatsheets/#reference
I use this for the regular expression:

Many thanks Anthony and your friend. I was looking for a BGP best path selection DOC for long. Finally you found for me .
This is great stuff, as the expanded blueprint that Anthony published earlier
Thanks Anthony and our friends from Africa. I have one more request. Where do I find the HEX value for IP ARP, PVSTPLUS_STP from one of the lab in v4.1 RS WB volII? I was not able to find it from the CCO DOC. Appreciate your help if you can provide a pointer for it.
Thanks so much!
Sesano – Check out the Security – ACL Favorites link.
Very helpful post indeed for all candidates.
Hopefully in time from requests, the list would grow.
But great work.
shef – In the lab, you wont have access to Stretch’ good blog
CCIE Security : Important IPS/IOS Signatures list
While preparation first I was trying to mug up all the important IOS IPS signature number until I came across this link from the DOC cd itself :
Security and VPN
Cisco IOS Software – 12.4 Family – 12.4 Mainline – C.G. -IOS >> Cisco IOS Security Configuration Guide, Release 12.4
Select Topic : Traffic Filtering, Firewalls, and Virus Detection >>> Configuring CISCO IOS IPS …..Bingo
Alternatively
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/security/configuration/guide/sec_cfg_ips_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
Hope this helps
Ok Anthony
How about the RFC 1918 Private Address range.
Where is this located in DoC-CD
Sesano – Security – ACL Favorites link once again for those.
Make sure you get the wildcard masks correct to not oversummarize.
For those who like to have it in wiki style:

cheers

Sesano> here a small trick to find the ports during the exam, open the Windows command prompt and do:
notepad C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\services
I found another great source for port number info…it is probably overkill for the R&S lab, but I was just wondering how do you know what you will be able to access from the lab pc?
Application Networking services –> Wide Ara Application Services –> Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Software –> configuration guides –> Cisco Wide Area Application Services Configuration Guide (Software Version 4.0.1) –> Default Application Policies
or http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v401/configuration/guide/apx_apps.html
Nice find – you have access to anything on the Products tab of the following link
http://www.cisco.com/web/psa/products/tsd_products_support_configure.html:
Excellent…thanks
Anthony,
the link to RTP ports is wrong isnt it? It says RTP ports range from ” 16384 to 32764″
Should it not be 16384 to 32767 ?
Thanks for the blog
Hi Nick!
Great catch – sorry about that – I updated the post to feature an easier location to find – and one that is actually technically correct.
Anthony,
I got this gem few minutes ago from Dale Shaw on GS:
http://blog.internetworkexpert.com/2008/12/19/ccent-saving-your-router-or-switch-configurations-to-your-pc/#more-399
I always wanted this. It is great!
Thanx and keep up with your good work.
Anthony, here it is the correct link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/application_oriented_networking/application_performance_assurance_engine/1.0/user/guide/B_Protocols.html
Sorry about that…
@Mihai: how do you get to this link?
i’ve found no way to get there by using the main entry link.

Does anybody know Where is role-based cli?
I was unable to find BGP Best Path Selection with from the original post, however I found it using the following:
Cisco IOS Software -> 12.2 -> Cisco IOS Release 12.2 Configuration Guides and Command References -> Cisco IOS IP Configuration Guide, Release 12.2 -> IP Routing Protocols -> BGP -> How BGP Selects Paths
